Those Who Survived

The Story of the Massacre

The following list was complied by Mr. David P. Mason and is excerpted from "Fort Mims and The Tensaw Settlement", by Dess L. and Tom Sangster, 1988.

NOTICE: Some researchers have disputed the accuracy of this list as it pertains to the Bryars and Hadley families.

Family names of pioneers who either were at Fort Mims or who had relatives who were in the fort. In many instances, such as that of Georger Weekley, his wife and children were at the fort and were all killed; while he was on a trip to his home to obtain food for the family. He, alone, in his family escaped the massacre.
